What's up TekBots! As you can see, we're trying to find a name for our community (You!) so if you have a better name for us, mention it in the comments below! Anyway, back to more interesting news, in this post, we will be covering a short overview on Ubisoft's fast-paced racing game, Trackmania Turbo.
Environments & Game Campaigns
There are 4 game environments for players to choose from: Rollercoaster Lagoon, International Stadium, Canyon Grand Drift, and Valley Down & Dirty. If you don't think that's enough, the game also has a campaign with 200 tracks to choose from. It has a similar feel to an arcade game and cars can perform flips, jumps and high speed movements on walls.
Double driver
A cool feature added to the game is the double driver option. Players can choose to play with 2 drivers controlling one car. This is quite challenging for first timers as players will have to work together to controller the speed and movement of the car. Imagine driving a real car with two people on the wheel!
I really liked how they wanted this option to not only provide a fun challenge for the players but also to create perhaps a new competitive scene. Check it out below:
Trackbuilder
Also, if you prefer the option of creating your own track and racing with your friends, Trackmania Turbo has an in-game trackbuilder that allows you to build a track and throw your friends in your fray.
An additional feature is the random track generator. If you're upset your friends are more veteran racing players who are already familiar with the tracks, you can use the random track generator to put everyone on a totally random track. With over 200 tracks, there is no knowing which one players will get. Anticipate the worst guys, because it could get messy.
Other cool features
The game also allows split-screen game-play (up to 4), customization on your vehicle, and online tournament racing. Some tracks are magnetic and basically, you'll be driving upside down. However, certain tracks need you to pick up enough speed to do a 360 degrees turn.
Some tips
Also, we have some tips to get you started with the game. If you want faster times and speed, know your vehicle better. Different cars allow you to maneuver differently and some allow better drifting (sometimes even too much!).
Always try to drift on turns. You'll get a better time if you don't slow down. Also, there is an option in the game that allows you to place a "ghost" player in the track.
The ghost car will provide you with a base knowledge on how fast you'll need to be to score higher up in the rankings. Frankly speaking, it ups your competitiveness and motivation to score better.
Other than that, it's always good to learn to take breaks! Practicing too much of one track can make you bored and maybe perform worse.
Conclusion
Overall, trackmania turbo is a cool new racing game that arcade lovers might like. Grab a couple of friends and try the game out! Let us know in the comments below what you guys think of the game.
Until then, continue gaming strong!
