Whats up again GOATers! We're here looking at another upcoming third-person stealth video game: HITMAN. It has been a long wait for fans as it was originally set to be released in December 2015 but was set way back to March 2016.
You play as Agent 47, a highly skilled assassin who is deployed to target various individuals to be eliminated. The game allows freedom for players to choose their method of assassination and also obtain information on the current state of the target or their location.
Some methods include long-ranged sniping, close range combat, explosives, or even make the assassination look like an accident or suicide attempt. The development of the game is explained by the Studio Head of Io-Interactive, Hannes Seifert who said:
“We are building a live, expanding and evolving world of assassination where we continuously develop the game, listening closely to the players as we release new locations, missions and hits as soon as they are ready - where $60 and not a dollar more gets you full access to the experience.”
The Beta is seen before the events of the Paris Showstopper mission and is named as "The Prologue" of the game. It gives players the insight on the background of Agent 47 and the characters that played a pivotal role in his early assassination career. This phase of the game will provide players the key mechanics needed for the game which includes practice targets to discover your skills.
An interesting feature of the game is that after attacking an individual, you can take their clothes and use it as a disguise to enable you to move around restricted areas. The only important note is, that after killing someone, it is greatly advised to hide the body in order not to be discovered by security (Duh!). Players will need to learn how to move their weapons through security, hide from guards and gain information as they move through the areas in the game.
At the beginning of this year, it was announced that HITMAN was to be released in a series of episodes and each episode will be released over the months after the release of the game (set to be in Sapienza, Marrakesh, Thailand, U.S., and Japan). In this way, the developers hope to evolve the game based off player input and reviews.
The Beta is just about pre-ordering the game at around $59.99 which also includes a requiem legacy white suit, additional weapons, and other collectibles. It will be available on PC, Xbox One and PS4 on March 11, 2016. Let us know in the comments below if you would like to see Goat Gaming cover the game in their next podcast!
Until then, continue gaming strong!
